The Sustainability Banquet
The Sustainability Banquet will be procured and prepared by the members of the class. All the ingredients of the meal will be grown, produced or gathered within a 100-mile radius of the University of Montevallo. Additionally, the class participants will try to get plates and utensils made locally by ceramics and sculpture artists and artisans, and to get all other fixtures constructed locally as feasible. This year, we will be serving a reasonably priced lunch for three days, in an effort to move towards daily sustainable food on the campus of the University of Montevallo.
The Sustainability Banquet lunches will be served on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, November 17th through 19th between 11am and 1pm at a campus location to be announced. Reserved lunches may be purchased from class members or in the English Department Office on the 2nd floor of Comer Hall.
All proceeds from the Sustainability banquet will go to local food banks and charities that support sustainability.
