Wilson Fallin, Jr. is Professor of History at Montevallo. The author
of The African American Church in Birmingham, Alabama, 1815-1963: A Shelter
in the Storm (Garland, 1997), Dr. Fallin is also the President of
Birmingham-Easonian Baptist Bible College, a visiting professor at Beeson
Divinity School of Samford University, and is the pastor of Oak Grove Baptist
Church in Birmingham. A former president of Selma University in Selma, Alabama.
Dr. Fallin is currently researching his second book entitled Uplifting the
People: Black Baptists in Alabama,1701-2000. Wilson held the crowd in the palm
of his oratorical hand and sealed the deal when he announced "God is an
Historian." Dr. Fallin has been at the University of Montevallo since 1992, and
he was the University Scholar in 1998.
